Rabbits

Rabbits are among our most common patients. In every clinical examination, it is important that the back molars are also carefully examined in order to detect dental diseases at an early stage.

Guinea pigs

Guinea pigs are one of Dr. Frei's favorits! Since guinea pigs are easily stressed when on their own, you are welcome to bring another guinea pig for emotional support for any inpatient stay with us.

Birds

Since many birds are easily stressed when handled, we carry out our examinations efficiently and in a target-oriented manner.

Reptiles

The metabolism of reptiles is very much influenced by their environment. It is therefore important that they are kept at appropriate temperatures during their transport to the veterinary practice.

Chinchilla

With chinchillas, pain therapy is particularly challenging, as they do not respond well to the usual dosages of painkillers.

Degu

In degus, dental diseases can lead to labored breathing in the nasal cavity. This can be easily diagnosed through special diagnostic imaging techniques.

Rodents

Rodents such as gerbils, mice and hamsters are rarely presented to veterinarians. Due to their small size, the rumor persists that appropriate medical care is not possible in these animals. However, with the help of special devices and instruments, this issue can be addresses and appropriate veterinary care be provided.

Rats

Rats are extremely intelligent and capable of learning things quickly. Sometimes treatments need to be designed with a lot of creativity in order to provide these resourceful animals with the best possible medical care.

Ferrets

Although ferrets are carnivores, they should not be treated with the same medical approach as dogs or cats. Many of the common cat and dog diseases present with very different clinical signs in ferrets.

Chicken and ducks

We love chickens and ducks as patients. Due to their larger size and their often laid back or even daredevil attitude, there are a number of diseases that can be treated without worrying about submitting them to too much stress.

Amphibians

Due to their very sensitive skin and close relationship to water, amphibians are highly susceptible to external influences. However, this unique quality can also be used to our advantage when treating them. Certain medications can actually be administered through the skin, thereby reducing stress caused by handling.

Fish

Freshwater as well as saltwater fish can be treated just like any other patient. With special techniques, you can even examine, treat or, if necessary, perform surgeries on fish.

Invertebrates

Medical treatments may also be necessary for invertebrates such as tarantulas, scorpions and snails. Regular health checks are an easy method of preventing this, as administering medication is often not easy for an owner.

Zoo animals

We also treat larger animals. You are welcome to contact us for any inquiries at any time.
